+ CASE FILE 04 / AN IMAGINARY CHRONOLOGY

THE LONG
WAY HOME.

Recovered fragments from an expedition that never happened.

EXPEDITION LOG / M–001

Every civilisation
starts somewhere.
Ours started
in a burrow.

Dates below belong to this fictional universe. They are not a scientific timeline.

01BEFORE THE ARRIVAL

A star begins to fade

Under the surface of an unnamed moon, the Murine Council approves an evacuation. Their ships carry seeds, maps and an unreasonable quantity of preserved cheese.

02THE FIRST NIGHT

A quiet landing

The vessels reach Earth inside a meteor shower. The smallest impact craters conceal the largest turning point in the archive’s imaginary history.

03THE LONG ADAPTATION

The body becomes a passport

Generations of deliberate transformation allow the travellers to inhabit their new world. Their tools grow larger. Their doorways follow.

04THE GREAT FORGETTING

The archive is sealed

To prevent a return to a dead star, the expedition buries its records. The last navigator becomes the first storyteller.

05THE AGE OF CITIES

The maze returns

Without remembering why, the descendants build networks of corridors, tunnels and crowded rooms. An archivist later draws a very questionable conclusion.

06THE PRESENT DAY

You find this page

A stray signal. A tiny footprint. A ridiculous theory that refuses to leave your imagination. The case remains open—inside the story.
